James G. Undieme, 72, of Winslow, died Saturday September 19, 2015 at F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. James was born on February 23, 1943 in Freeport, the son of Giacomo "Jack" and Irene (Hale) Undieme. James was a 1962 Freeport High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Vietnam Era. James married Mary Cook in Freeport in June of 1986. He worked as a welder for many years. He also worked on the railroad, as a machinist, and did machine maintenance work. He enjoyed going fishing, bowling, cooking, working on and racing his 1963 Dodge Polara, following the Chicago Bears and NASCAR, and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Mary Undieme of Winslow; two sons, Ryan Undieme of Winslow, IL and Mike (Cindy) Hale; his daughter Tina (John) Brick of Rockford, IL; four stepchildren Kevin (Sherry) Cook of Rock Falls, Rickey Stigall Jr. of Henderson, Nevada, Robert (Kari) Stigall of Nevada, and Sarah Adams of Freeport; his brother, Rev. Thomas (Sheryl) Undieme of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Providence "Pee Wee" (Ron) Busjahn of Freeport and Francesa "Mary" (Tom) Shick. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Phil Undieme. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Rev. Thomas Undieme will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs on Thursday.
