James F. Kellner

James F. Kellner, 88, of Freeport, died July 26, 2017 at Liberty Village in Manor Court. He was born December 14, 1928 in Evanston, IL to William F. and Mary M. (Flanagan) Kellner. On June 2, 1956 he married Donna Jean Paul at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Freeport. He served in the Korean War in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954. James was the Vice President of Marketing at the Bankers Mutual Life Insurance Company for 21 years. He was a life long member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. His memberships included past member of the Charter Life Underwriters, Charter Financial Consultants, Past President of the Northwestern Illinois Life Underwriters, Past President of the Freeport Country Club, Freeport Eagles Club and Freeport Modelers Radio Control. He is survived by his wife, Donna Kellner of Freeport; sons, James (Michele) Kellner of Stuart, FL and Patrick (Jeanne) Kellner of Holland, MI; daughter, Ann (Robert) Neville of Aurora, IL; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kellner of Holland, MI; sister-in-law, Charlotte Kellner of Cincinnati, OH; and 11 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother William and son Michael. Funeral Mass will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday July 29, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Visitation will be held at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home also on Saturday from 10:00-11:30 A.M. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for FHN Hospice.
