James “JC” Rogers III, 66, of Freeport, IL passed away at home Saturday June 8, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born February 11, 1958 in Tampa, Florida to James and Wanda (Dotson) Rogers II. JC served the in the United Sates Army. Truck driving was JC’s passion and he drove truck for over 40 years. He especially enjoyed the years working for Larry and Diane Asche and considered them family. His hobbies included model trucks and cars, music, and dancing. He enjoyed all kinds of music, especially hard rock from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and recently modern rock influenced by his daughter Meagan. Most of all, JC enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren that he was really proud of.
He is survived by his special friend Heidi Miller of Freeport, IL; four sons James Rogers IV of Germany, Ben (Sarah) Brinkmeier of Freeport, IL, Matthew Zacamy, of Freeport, IL and Eric (Carl) Stake of Freeport, IL; daughter Meagan Boyd of Freeport, IL; three brothers Kenny Rogers, Charles Rogers, and Michael (Diane) Rogers; two sisters Sue Rogers and Becky Rogers; and four grandchildren Luke Brinkmeier, Robby Brinkmeier, Damon Brinkmeier, and Alessa Boyd. JC is preceded in death by his parents.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established for Northern Illinois Hospice.
