Jakob Lewis Wheeler, 39, of Broadhead, WI, died February 12, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born November 24, 1980 in Freeport, IL, the son of Ray E. Wheeler and Sally J. Ross. Jakob was a service writer for Caliber Collison in Middleton, WI. He graduated from Polo High School in 1999, where he participated in track, football, and wrestling. He was the lead singer in axiom and Mr. Fist in the Madison, WI area. He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed fishing and golf. Most of all Jakob was a devoted father, son, brother, and family man. Jakob is survived by his mother Sally (Roger) Ross of Freeport, IL; children, Dax and Lydia Wheeler and their mother, Rachel Wheeler of Orangeville, IL; brother, Austin (Susie) Wheeler and niece Shelby Stingley of Rock Falls, IL; grandmothers Katie Grau and Goldie Wheeler; step brothers Shawn (Gina) Ross of Rockford, IL and Justin Ross (Joni) of Georgia; step sister, Angelica Collins of Georgia; aunts, Sue Giedd and Colleen (Gary) Pehl; uncles, William Grau, Kenny (Cathy) Wheeler, and Gary, Larry, and Bill Wheeler; and numerous cousins and friends. Jakob was preceded in death by his father, Ray Wheeler, grandfathers Kenny Wheeler and John Grau; and uncles Ray Giedd and Jerry Wheeler. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday February 20, 2020 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, with Rev. Scot Ralston officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-7:00 P.M. also at Burke-Tubbs. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Jakob's memory.
