Jack Lavern Yoder, 70, passed away at home on January 15, 2025 with his loving daughter, Cari by his side, who took care of them during his last weeks. He was born June 7, 1954 to the late Wayne Yoder and Gloria Raetz. He attended Freeport High School and he retired from Danfoss after 40 years as an engineer.
Jack enjoyed gambling, especially playing Texas Hold’em with family and friends. He liked to go fishing and he always looked forward to the fishing trips every year with his brothers and sister and their spouses, which they did every year for over 30 years. He enjoyed sitting outside and having his PBR's and White Russians with whoever stopped by.
He was always joking around. Jack was always willing to help anyone if needed. He will be missed by many.
Jack is survived by his son Curt (Johanna) Yoder of Freeport; his daughter, Cari Yoder of Freeport; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ed) Clevenz, Steven Yoder, Jaxon Yoder, Jozy Yoder, Jenna Yoder, Autumn (Matt) Larson, Summer Yoder, and Tyson Yoder; great grandchildren, Mckenzie, Edward Jr. and Theodore; Sisters Sherri (Richard) Mullen of Freeport and Cindy Eberley of Freeport; brothers, Randy (Debbie) Yoder of Freeport, Curt (Rose) Yoder of Freeport, Joe Yoder and Chuck Yoder of Las Vegas; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son Tony, parents Wayne and Gloria, brother Nick, and nephew Chris.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-5:00 PM Saturday February 1, 2025 at the Freeport Eagles Club, 1200 West Galena Ave, Freeport, IL 61032. Cremation rites have been accorded.
