Iva G. Atherton

Iva G. Atherton, 99, of Freeport, died in her home, Saturday, April 27, 2019. Iva was born September 27, 1919 in Fairhaven, Illinois, the daughter of Julius and Hazel (Kahler) Eickert. She married Robert E. Atherton December 27, 1940. Mr. Atherton died May 9, 1979. Iva worked at the Shannon Nursing Home. Surviving is her son, Ellis (Kathleen) Atherton of Shannon; daughter, Karen (Don) Munz of Freeport; thee brothers, Elmer Eickert, Lyle Eickert, and Wayne Eickert; sister, Gloria Murphy; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Iva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and three sisters. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 1, 2019 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Rev.
