Irene B. Undieme

Irene B. Undieme, 98, of Freeport, died Monday September 22, 2014 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born February 19, 1916 in Plevena, MT, the daughter of Reed and Anna Markwardt. She married Jack Undieme on October 3, 1938; he died March 18, 1963. Irene worked at Micro Switch for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Freeport Eagles Club and a member of Home Extension. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her friends. Her Family was a very important part of her life; especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Irene is survived by two sons James (Mary) Undieme of Lena, IL and Rev. Thomas (Sheryl) Undieme of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters Providence (Ron) Busjahn of Freeport, IL and Mary (Tom) Shick of Lena, IL; twelve grandchildren: Mike, Tony, Lisa, Lori, Ryan, Tina, Jeff, Elaine, Terry, Mike, Tammy, and Meg; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Philip; two brothers; one great-great-grandson; and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday September 27, 2014 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral in Freeport with Rev. Thomas Undieme officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home.
