Ilene Lois Boomgarden

Ilene L. Boomgarden, 86, of Mt. Morris, IL, passed away Thursday September 1, 2022, at Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris. She was born September 4, 1935 in German Valley, IL, the daughter of Benjamin and Mildred (Pals) Suttman. Ilene married LeRoy Boomgarden on June 26, 1954 in German Valley, IL; LeRoy passed away December 20, 2012. Ilene was the secretary at German Valley Grade school for 25 years. She was a member of Silver Creek Reformed Church. She volunteered at her church and for the Salvation Army. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, being outdoors, and observing wildlife. She was awarded the German Valley Days Most Valuable Person for her contributions to the village. Ilene is survived by her son, Brian (Kathy) Boomgarden of Manitowoc, WI.; and three grandchildren, Oriel (Eric) Combs of Appleton, WI., Cade (Mayra Moreno) Boomgarden of Milwaukee, WI., and Katie Boomgarden of German Valley. Ilene was preceded in death by her husband; son, Michael; step grandson, Chad Ford; and brother, Roland Suttman. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 10, 2022, at Silver Creek Reformed Church. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Silver Creek Reformed Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Rockford Rescue Mission in Ilene's memory.
