Hunter Lee McWorthy, beloved son, husband, and soon to be daddy, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday March 3rd 2023 at FHN, at the age of 25, with family by his side. Hunter Bear was born on Saturday, June 28th 1997 to Dan and Amanda McWorthy. Hunter was a goof and the light of all of our lives. He made friends wherever he went and kept those friends close. Some of these friendships have been since pre-school. Hunter would do anything for someone he loved and cared about, friends became his family. He spent his early years helping his Papa with any and all things he was doing. His childhood was a fun filled time riding bikes and roaming the woods with his best friend, and built-in brother, Nicolas Pilson (who he would "never steer wrong"!) Hunter was a 2015 graduate from Pearl City High School, and one of Hunter's greatest school accomplishments was having PERFECT attendance from Kindergarten to Senior Year, something he always would make sure to brag about. He also played baseball for Freeport Little League and made the All Star Team, where he was a pitcher and also hit a homerun. He made sure to remind everyone that he was a baseball All Star! At age 8 Hunter started training at Kahjok Tae Kwon Do, he worked hard (like always) and achieved the rank of 2nd degree black belt. He competed in countless tournaments where he always brought home trophies and medals. He enjoyed teaching the students over the years. Hoping to impact their lives. Hunter was employed his Senior year at Freeport Metal Specialties working with his Dad. He worked his way up to Head Painter and also Head Prankster. He was always finding new ways to torment his coworkers with his shenanigans. One of Hunter's favorite parts of the job was going in early to talk with his Dad...usually about what new podcast he was listening to. Hunter found true love with Karly, she was the love of his life. He became an instant addition to her family, they treated him like their very own. Karly showed Hunter such love and Hunter was able to be his fun loving self with her, he was her fierce protector and biggest supporter, all while showing her his softer side. They had so many great adventures, such as Hunters first plane ride to CO. They made memories wherever they went, whether it was weekends at the cabin or sitting at home being true home bodies watching Dippy be Dippy. Their idea of a perfect time was whenever they were together. Hunter and Karly were married on May 21st 2022 in a breathtaking ceremony surrounded by family and friends, and it was a fantastic reception, with Hunter and Karly getting to celebrate their love with everyone. They had the type of love for each other that was so strong that everyone knew it was forever. Hunter made friends easily and made a connection with everyone he met. It didn't matter if he was just working out at the gym, he made so many new friends. He was known to "talk you into anything", all while laughing with (at) you and getting you to do it again. He was always up for a challenge, no matter how inappropriate it was, and bringing others along for the fun. He never lost a competition if food was involved, as he could out-eat anyone. Hunter will be remembered for his stubbornness, knowing he was usually right, he just had to convince you. We are all heartbroken that he will be missing out on his greatest adventure of all, being a dad to his daughter. He was going to be the best dad, and was already making plans for all of the memories they would make. As usual, he was getting prepared for his greatest journey. This next stage in his life was the one he was truly looking forward to the most. Preceding Hunter is his Papa, Vernon (Willie) Wilhelm, Great Grandparents Leroy and Charlotte Bruning, and David McWorthy and friend Michael Funk. Hunter is survived by his soon to be daughter, love of his life, Karly, best dog Dippy and Theo the cat. His proud parents, Dan and Amanda, loving in-laws Brent and Beth Schneider. His honored grandparents, Mark and Mary Goeke, Dave and Sandy McWorthy, Beth Wilhelm and great grandma, LaVonne McWorthy. He is also survived by his cherished in-laws, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephew and countless friends. Funeral Service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. Wayne Fischer, officiating.
