Hortense Ludwig

Hortense "Pat" Ludwig, 88, of Forreston died Monday at Polo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Polo after a long illness. She was born February 20, 1925 in Saint Louis, Mo., the daughter of Lee and Gladys (Gay) Falkner. She married Ed Ludwig on March 10, 1973 at Rockford, Illinois. For eight years Mrs. Ludwig was the manager of The Scripture Book Store in Rockford. She was a member of Forreston Reformed Church. She was active in the library and taught Catechism classes, she was also in the church choir and taught Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Ludwig is survived by her loving husband Ed, her son Larry Jenkins of Forreston and daughter Linda Jenkins, of Rockford. Her sister-in-law's Marilyn Ludwig of Forreston, Priscilla Ludwig of Lanark. Nine nieces and nephews. Fourteen great-nieces and nephews and Ten great-great-nieces and nephews. Preceding her death were her parents, her brother and sister-in law, Forrest and Marie Falkner, Two brothers-in-laws, LeRoy and Herman Ludwig and her great-niece, Heidi Ludwig. A funeral service for Mrs. Ludwig will be Friday, 11:30 A.M. at Forreston Reformed Church. Rev. Tim Frey, pastor and Rev. James A Stralow will officiate. . Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Haldane Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Serenity Hospice of Oregon and Forreston Reformed Church. Arrangements are being completed by Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston.
