Helen Palmer

Helen I. Palmer, 96, of Forreston, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born on June 8, 1918 in Oregon, IL., the daughter of Harry and Charlotte (Griswold) Hardesty. Helen was a Homemaker and Housewife. She married George Palmer on November 11, 1939. He died on August 6, 1997. For many years she attended Leaf River Methodist Church. Helen was an avid Cub fan and a member of the Merry Martha Club for many years. Survivors include two sons, G. LaVerne (Sandra) Palmer of Good Year, AZ and Jason (Jaime) Palmer of Batavia, IL; two daughters, Gail (James) Butler of DeKalb, IL and Sharon (John) Redler of El Mirage, AZ; also 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Silver Creek Cemetery, Leaf River. Rev. Robert Patin will officiate.
