Harold C. Huss, 73,of Freeport, died Wednesday January 21, 2015 in his home. He was born August 21, 1941 in Oquawka, IL, the son of Lloyd and Almeada (Dobson) Huss, Sr. He married Julia White August 17, 1985 in Canyon, TX Harold was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving for 13 years. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad, then as an over road truck driver, and owned and operated The Treasure Chest in Freeport. He enjoyed watching western movies. Harold is survived by his wife, Julia of Freeport, Il; his seven sons, Dwayne Huss of SD, Darrell Huss of Newbern, NC, Ronald (Melody) Huss of Chocowinity, NC, Scott Huss of Galesburg, IL, Adam White of Freeport, IL, Mike Swanson of Galesburg, IL, and Ted Swanson of Abdingdon, IL; three daughters, Lorelei (Steve) Paris of Davenport, IA, Michelle (Holland) Mideyette of Greenville, NC, and Kimberly Huss of Peoria, IL; three brothers Lloyd Huss, Jr. of Carmen, IL, Raymond (Carol) Huss of Dallas City, IL, and Richard (Marry) Huss of Dallas City, IL; two sisters, Judith (Fred) Krabbe of Kansas City, MO and Lela (Larry) Worley of Carmen, IL; also eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday January 23, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Freeport City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
