February 24, 1945 — November 22, 2024

Glenda L. Fetter, 79, of Freeport, IL, passed away on November 22, 2024 at her son’s home. Days prior to passing she was able to say goodbye to many of her nieces and nephews; she was touched by how many were able to come see her.

She was born on 2/24/1945 in Freeport, IL to Warner and Rose (Cooper) Cummins.

Glenda married Gary L. Fetter on 11/21/1964 In Freeport, IL. She worked at Package Production Inc, Burgess Battery, Freeport Memorial Hospital and Honeywell during her work years. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, son and his wife Lisa, her many sisters and brothers and her many nieces and nephews. She especially liked spending time with the family during the big gatherings on the holidays. She also loved spending time with her great (and great great) nieces and nephews that were like grandchildren to her, keeping her relationships with them from being children through adulthood. She enjoyed having dinner each weekend with her son and wife and niece Michelle, making sure to always have a good dessert afterwards, with Apple Crisp, Brownies and Apple Cake being favorites. Her and Michelle would also take road trips to Clinton to go gambling to pass the day on a Saturday or Sunday. She loved her cairn terriers and after she got too old to have dogs enjoyed her time with her grand dogs.

She is survived by her son Wayne (Lisa) Fetter of Freeport and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Gary, sisters Virginia Shumaker, Viola Germain, Barbara Richards, Lois Cummins, Madge Wilson, Cindy Lestikow and Sharon Cummins and brothers Harry Cummins, Wilbur Cummins and George Cummins.
