Glen E. Gale

Glen E. Gale, 80, of Freeport, departed his earthly body peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Glen was born February 18, 1938 in Freeport the son of Fred W. and Goldie (Boganrief) Gale Sr. He married Sylvia "Suzie" Shook on August 26, 1994. Glen worked for Patterson Lumber Company for 43 years and then Rockford Heat Treaters for 10 years. Glen was a member of Freeport Eagles Club Aerie 679. He enjoyed following the Green Bay Packers, traveling, fishing and hunting. Glen is survived by his wife, Suzie Gale of Freeport; son, Rodney J. Gale; four step-daughters, Toni Gale, Amy Heck, Keri Freytag, and Nicole Holmes; and granddaughter at home, Caitlyn; brothers, Fred (Wilma) Gale Jr. and Gerald (Judy) Gale; sisters, Sharon Symanek, Shirley J. (Gerald) Rucker; 12 grandchildren, Erica, Travis, Gage, Teddy, James, Cassie, Tyler, Paul, Lexie, Madie, Mylee, and Bella. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Gale was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 3, 2018 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Burliss Parker will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
