Glen Allen

Glen Allen, 74, of Adeline, died Monday, June 11, 2012, peacefully in his home following a long illness. He was born on February 9, 1938 in Adeline, the son of Virgil and Velda May (Dayoff) Allen. Glen worked for 46 years at Kable Printing in Mt. Morris before retiring in 2000. Glen enjoyed doing anything outdoors, especially hunting, trapping, fishing and mowing. Glen also enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He is survived by his wife Betty Jo Smice of Adeline, son; Jeff (Stella) Allen of Adeline, two daughters; Sherry (Ben) Mattingley of Leaf River and Jody ( Larry) Newhausen of Byron, brother; Curt Allen of Adeline, three stepchildren; Frank (Jill) Smice of Leaf River, Jeff Smice of Mt. Morris and Lisa (Karl) Anderson of Green Bay, WI. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren. Glen was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Leo. Gravesides services will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday June 13, 2012 in Adeline Cemetery with Rev. Diane Jochum officiating.
