Gertrude M. Daniels

Gertrude M. Daniels, 94, former Forreston resident, died Friday January 28, 2011, at the Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville, Illinois. Gertrude was born July 30, 1916 in Crothersville, Indiana, the daughter of Jacob and Fenne (Kiewitt) Elmer. Gertrude married Melvin E. Daniels on July 6, 1941 in Freeport. Melvin died December 29, 2005. Gertrude and Melvin worked on their family farm for many years in Ogle County. She was a member of Zion Church in Freeport. She enjoyed crocheting and playing the piano. Survivors include two sons; Kermit (Luann) Daniels of Forreston and Duane (Rosann) Daniels of Oswego, one daughter Sharon (Richard) Ryan of Naperville. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 5, 2011 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston with Pastor Gardy Cronk officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at Burke Tubbs.
