Geraldine F. Cole

Pastor Geraldine F. Cole, fondly known as "Mama," of Dixon, IL passed to her eternal home November 30th surrounded by her family and loved ones in the home she loved. She was born December 23, 1951 at Deaconess Hospital to Percy and Roberta Bruce in Freeport, Il. On May 27, 1977, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Michael F. Cole in Freeport. That union produced a legacy of love with their children William (Ashlee) Bruce of Dixon, IL, Percel Bruce of Rockford, IL, Falecia (Levan) Smith of Freeport, and Michael (Cashonna) Cole of Dixon, IL That legacy of love continued to flow down through to her grandchildren Jerald Davis, Isaiah Bruce, Deon Bruce, Starr Bonilla, Jazlynn Cole, Janysah Cole Jaaylen and Joyanah Banks, Genesis and Zyien Cole; and 1 great granddaughter Alizah Cole. Left with them to cherish her memory are her sisters Mary Hodge of Woodbury, MN, Paulette Farrar of Dixon, IL, and brother Francis Bruce of Freeport, IL along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. As Co-Pastor of The Worship Center in Dixon, she gained MANY adopted sons and daughters. She also leaves to cherish her memory her childhood friend, Blondie Clark and many many others touched by her life. She was proceeded in death by Her mother, Roberta, Her father Percy, Step Father, Lawrence Williams, 3 sisters Eunice Bruce, Pearl Gault and Ethel Pruitt, and 2 brothers Percy Bruce Jr, and Paul Bruce. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, her love, Percel Bruce and one granddaughter Starr Bonilla. Visitation will be held at Burke- Tubbs Funeral Home, Friday December 6, 2019 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.; Her Celebration of Life will be held Saturday December 7, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Dixon, IL commencing at 11:00 a.m. with long time friend, Pastor Larry Harts of City of God Church in Rockfalls, IL officiating.
