Gerald 'Jerry" R. Mcnett

Gerald "Jerry" R. McNett of Freeport, IL, age 84, passed away on April 1, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born in Cuba City, Wisconsin to Guerdon and Virginia (Pearce) McNett. He graduated from Benton High School and went on to serve for the U.S. Army. He married Elsie Schmid on December 22, 1956. They moved to Freeport, where he worked for Micro Switch and the Kelly Springfield where he retired in 1993. Jerry's most enjoyable times were spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Surviving are his wife, Elsie of Freeport; three daughters, Marlene (Steve) Kroeger of Freeport, Sherri (John) Osterberger of Edgerton, WI, and Linda McNett Allen of Freeport; two sons, David (Melissa) McNett of Monroe, WI, and Kevin (Janice) McNett of Freeport; nine grandchildren, Luke (Julie) Kroeger of Cedar Falls, IA, Amy (Kyle Dornink) Kroeger of Rock City, Kelsie (Bryan) Bannach of Edgerton, WI, Tegan Allen of Freeport, Tristan Rosenstiel, Tyler & Brynlee McNett of Monroe, WI, and Kaine and Briana McNett of Freeport; two great-granddaughters; Nora and Evelyn Kroeger of Cedar Falls, IA; three brothers, Keith (Helen) McNett of Platteville, WI, Stanley (Dorothy) McNett of Mountain View, AR, and Royce McNett of Coloma, WI; two sisters, Phyllis McNett of Dubuque, IA, and Janet McNett of Janesville, WI. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. A memorial gathering will be Sunday May 1, 2016 from 12:00 P.
