Georgia L. Stockton

Georgia L. Stockton, 90, of Freeport, died Sunday December 5, 2010 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born March 16, 1920 in Albany, Kentucky, the daughter of Joe and Bina (Gibson) Brown. She moved to Freeport in August of 1952. Georgia had many friends and acquaintances from her many years of managing the Sears Catalog Department. Survivors include four daughters; Judy (Jim) Kaney of Forreston, Joyce (Pete) Mordick of Freeport, Terry Martin of Pinellas Park, Fl and Nancy J. Franz of Freeport, one son, Steve (Deborah) Stockton of Byron, one sister Mary Ruth Brown of Logansport, Indiana, also surviving 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she was very close with that reside in Indiana, Kentucky, Arizona, and Freeport. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one daughter Mary C. Sieber and one grandson Kenneth Mordick. Funeral Services will be Thursday 11:00 A.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs.
