Gary Lee Johnson

Gary Lee Johnson, 67, of Freeport, died Friday morning in his home. Gary was born on April 17, 1944 in Freeport the son of Elmer and Vera (Wienand) Johnson. Gary married Beverly Jane McMurray on August 23, 1969 in Rockford. He was 1962 graduate of Dakota High School. Gary work for John Konoble & Sons for 25 years. He served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing softball. Gary was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Survivors include; his wife, Jane Johnson of Freeport, one son, Todd (Bobbie Ohlinger) Johnson of Boulder City, Nevada, one daughter Kimberly (Chris) Grebner of Freeport, step mother, Marie Johnson of Freeport, two step brothers; Steve (Marsha) Meinert of New Berlin, Wisconsin and Gary (Diane) Meinert of Rock City, Illinois and one step sister; Marj (Geno) Wilkens of Freeport. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Brandon Johnson, McKenna Johnson, Skyler and Mason Grebner. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister Penny. Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Burke Tubbs with Pastor Bill Blomberg officiating. Visitation will be Monday Evening from 4:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs.
