Gary Koehn

Gary L. Koehn, 77, of Freeport, passed away, Sunday January 17, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born May 25, 1943 in Freeport, the son of Louis and Beatrice (Lower) Koehn. Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1965. He married Sandra Rowland on November 18, 1967. Gary worked at Micro Switch/Honeywell as a tool and die maker/coordinator for 35 years, before retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Freeport Eagles Club. Gary enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His favorite time was spent being with his family. Surviving is his wife, Sandra Koehn of Freeport; daughter, Stacy (Greg) Wagner of Freeport; two granddaughters, Taylor Koehn (T.J. Parrent) of Loves Park and Lauren Koehn (Cade Budenz) of Freeport; brother, Dennis (Dawn) Koehn; and nephew, D.J. Koehn. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, son, Derek, and brother-in-law, Larry Rowland. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be held.
