Gary Joseph Roddewig, 73, of Freeport, passed away, Thursday August 24, 2023 at Walnut Acres Nursing Center. Gary was born April 24, 1950 in Freeport, the son of George J. and Dorothy J. (Noe) Roddewig. Gary worked for both the Journal Standard and Modern Plating Corp. Gary was a baseball fan and enjoyed collecting cards throughout the years. He also enjoyed fishing in his free time.


Surviving is three brothers, George David (Diane) of Portage, WI,, Dan (JoAnne) of St. Peters, MO., and Richard “Dick” (Janet) of Rockford; sister, Kathleen (Randall) Hasken of Lanark; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.


Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Diane.


Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday August 30, 2023 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Gary’s memory.
