Gary Joe Bauscher

Gary J. Bauscher, 61, of Freeport, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Gary was born January 26, 1956 in Freeport, the son of LaVernon and Shirley (Endress) Bauscher. He graduated from Dakota High School in 1974. Gary was employed at Cincinnati Tool Steel Company in Rockford for many years. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed sharing his love with his children and grandchildren. His morning routine was a cup of coffee with his newspaper and scratch off lottery tickets. Gary's sense of humor will be missed by everyone. Surviving are his mother, Shirley Louise Christeson; children, Christopher J. (Nichole) Bauscher and Amy J. Bauscher both of Freeport; grandchildren, Marcus Bauscher, De'Andre Robinson, Hudson Bauscher, and Harper Bauscher; great-grandchildren, Marcus Bauscher Jr.; brother, Edwin (Ann) Bauscher of Freeport; sisters, Belinda (Karl) Janicke of Freeport, Karen (Ralph) Tschabold of Trenton, TN., and Sherry (Tony) Alber of Freeport. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his father, LaVernon Bauscher; brother, Johnnie Bauscher; half sisters, Bonnie Louise and Julie Ann Bauscher; half-brothers, Michael John and David George Bauscher; God-mother, Sophia Teichler; niece, Crystal Lynn Tschabold; his fraternal and maternal grandparents; and son-in-law, Deon Robinson. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 13, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Blomberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
