Gale M. Orde

December 28, 1947 — April 3, 2022

Gale M. Orde, 74, formerly of Lena and Chicago, passed away on April 3, 2022 at Walnut Acres, after a courageous struggle with numerous conditions. She was born in Melrose, Massachusetts on December 28, 1947 to Edward Orde Sr. and Doris (Cooke) Orde. After moving to the Midwest, she attended school in Lena and graduated from LeWin High School in 1965. Gale eventually settled in Chicago and fell in love with the city. In her years there, she held numerous jobs, but specifically enjoyed her job at the Railroad Retirement Board, where she worked for over 25 years before retiring in 2012. Gale also loved nature and enjoyed spending time with many friends and family camping, fishing and boating. One of her favorite things to do was to drive around the back roads and look for deer and other wildlife. Gale also loved animals and was a loving pet owner to many different creatures. Gale is survived by her brother, Edward (Connie) Orde Jr., two nieces whom she adored, Kristin (Trent) Rademaker of Freeport, Il, Lisa (Jason) Knox of Dakota, Il and several great nieces and nephews Adam Orde of Chicago, Il., Tyler Rademaker, Chelsea Rademaker, Whitney (Andrew) Bower, Brittany (Fianc Josh Staska) and Nolan Knox. Preceding her in death where her grandparents, parents, and her best friend, Karen Nelson. There will be no services per her request and her body has been donated to science so others may benefit from learning from her conditions. Gale's family would like to thank Dr. Terry Miller, the staff of Walnut Acres, and FHN Hospice for their care and concern. A memorial as been established in her name
