Gale 'Butch' G. Pittsley, 69, of Freeport, died in his home Saturday. He was born November 11, 1941 in Freeport, the son of Glenn C. and Beatrice (Brown) Pittsley. On April 4, 1976 he married Doris A. Bornmeier. Butch was employed by Ace Muffler for over 20 years. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He liked spending time woodworking and fishing. His family was extremely important to him and he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in sporting events. Survivors include; his soul mate, Doris Pittsley of Freeport, son, Shawn (Dorothy) Pittsley of Freeport, three daughters; Kelly (Jamie) Ditsworth of Monroe, Wis, Dawn (Jeff) Brandt of Seattle, Wash, and Brenda Kohler of Illinois, 11 grandchildren; Tristain, Kylan, Shawna, Jayme, Zachary, Brandon, Jessie, Casey, Geddy, Jamie and Tuesday, two great grandchildren and best friends Roger and Pat Thurman of McConnell and Betty Hepler of Freeport. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jacqulin Brinkmeier and one son Todd Pittsley. Services will be Wednesday 11:00 A.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Blomberg officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at Burke Tubbs. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
