Fred Lee Ishmon Sr., 77, of Freeport, died Friday July 19, 2013 at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 26, 1935 in Cotton Plant, AR, the son of Leroy and Bessie Mae (Young) Ishmon. Fred married Floncie Mae Ishmon in Forrest City, Ar, She passed away on December 18, 2011. He worked as a maintenance / grounds keeper for Highland Community College for 35 years until he retired. He was a member and a Trustee at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to church, and spending time with his family and friends. Fred is survived by his four sons Fred (Shelia) Ishmon Jr., Willie (Stacey) Ishmon, Angelo (Denise) Ishmon, and Darrin (Krystal Bubrick) Ishmon; four daughters Virginia (Earl Shipp) Allen, Berreta (Willie) Jordan Jr., Stephanie (Chris Brooks) Ishmon, and Katrenia (Steve Owens) Ishmon; two brothers Leon (Argusta) Ishmon, and James Ishmon; 35 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren. Fred was preceded Indeath by his parents; his wife; two brothers Vergie Ishmon and Buck Ishmon; and two grandchildren Tejuron Ishmon and Khrisma Brooks. Funeral services for Mr. Ishmon will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 27, 2013 at Frieindship Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport with the Rev. Ricky Stidman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Freeport City Cemetery.
