Frankie L. Ishmon

Frank "Sweet Frankie" Ishmon, 70, of Freeport, IL, passed away December 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Frankie was born March 2, 1952, in Forrest City, AR, to Leon and Argusta Ishmon. Frankie attended school in Forrest City, AR, and then later moved to Freeport, IL, with his family where he later finished his schooling. Frankie worked for the City of Freeport, Burgess Battery, and Benchwarmers and Grill. Frankie enjoyed driving around town, dressing up in his suits and brim hats just to go nowhere, and hanging out at Benchwarmers. Most of all Frank loved spending time with his family. Frankie leaves to cherish his memories his son, Stacy Ishmon, of Freeport, IL. Four sisters: Emma Ishmon and Dorothy Ishmon, Joann Ishmon, of Freeport, IL, Barbara (Leon) Rice, of Rockford, IL. One brother, Leroy (Ella) Ishmon, of Freeport, IL. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Proceeding Frankie in death are his parents, Leon and Argusta Ishmon, one son, Garland Harrell, grandparents, two brothers, Walter and Leon Ishmon, Jr., and nephew, Eric Rice. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday December 27, 2022 at Phillipians Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Allison officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Freeport City Cemetery.
