Frank West Sr.

Frank West, Sr. was born on April 15, 1941, to the late Sarah and Jim West in Joiner, Arkansas. He departed this life on August 4, 2019 at Swedish American Hospital. He graduated from Central High School and later moved to Elgin, Illinois, where he worked at Elgin Casket Company for 16 years. Later he moved to Freeport, Illinois where he was employed by Venders for 6 years and met the love of his life, Ms. Flora Newton. They were together for 25 years. He was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan who was always the life of the party, always laughing, joking, and just being his loveable self. He departed this life on August 4, 2019 at 11:00pm at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Frank West, Sr was preceded in death his parents, Sarah and Jim West: his sister Jimmie Former: brothers Willie west and Isaiah West, and daughter Annette Taylor. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted companion, Flora Newton. His children: Frankie (Kenneth) Williams of Hayti, MO.; Sharon Lynn West of Houffman Estates; Rhonda Harris, Gwen Harris, Tyron Harris of Rockford, IL.; Frank West, Jr, Tatizes Bobo of St. Louis, MO.; Keith Taylor, Stan Harris of Elgin, IL. Six Stepchildren: Lucy (Donnie)Maupin, Dianna Newton, Cassandra Jamison, Lucinda Lenoir, Chevron Newton, Boston Newton III all of Rockford, IL. Sisters: Dorothy (Jim) Brandon, Jewelene Former of Elgin, IL.; Ida Brooks and Vera West of Hayti, MO. Brothers: Calvin (Margie) West and James (Ann) West of Hayti, MO.; Tommy West of Elgin, IL. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and a very special friend Tommie Lee Burrow who proceeded him in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday August 16, 2019 at St. James C.M.E. Church. Rev. Dr. Marcellus Thomas will officiate.
