Frank Martin

Frank Martin, 90, of Freeport, died Monday January 5, 2015 in his home. Frank was born on January 1, 1925, in Freeport, the son of Joseph and Grace (Veer) Martin. Frank married Viola "Tootie" Paugel on October 17, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was a longtime employee of Freeport Sewer and Water Department. Frank was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pearl City. He enjoyed riding horses and doing woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Viola "Tootie" Martin of Freeport; two daughters, Linda (Pete) Hubbard and Crystal Schweigert both of Freeport; five grandchildren, Eric McDonald, Melody Managhan, Mary Dominguez, Bryan Schweigert and Christopher Schweigert. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by three sisters, his granddaughter, Angie Patterson; and one great-grandson, Trent Schweigert. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday January 13, 2015 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be Monday 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs.
