Floyd L. Nesemeyer, 88, of Freeport, IL passed away Wednesday October 27, 2021 in his home. He was born June 28, 1933 in Stephenson County, IL to Elmer and Belinda (Damman) Nesemeyer. On September 8, 1956 Floyd married Darlene P. Olthoff in Freeport, IL. Darlene passed away May 3, 1999. Floyd served in the United States Army. He was a member of Florence Station United Methodist Church and the Stephenson County Farm Bureau. Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to Florida, farming, trucking, and going to the casino. Surviving is Floyd's two sons Gary (Carol) Nesemeyer of Tennesee and Roger Nesemeyer of Rockford, IL; two daughters Debbie Schopf and Nancy (Randall) TerHark both of Freeport; brother Paul Nesemeyer of Freeport; sister Mary Jane Theviot of Florida; four grandchildren Robert Schopf, John Schopf, Andrew Schopf, and Jacob TerHark; seven great-grandchildren; and friend Carol Martz. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters Anna (Lester) Bonebright and Ruth (Reynolds) Baker, sister-in-law Ruth Nesemeyer, and brother-in-law Merill Theviot. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday October 30, 2021 at Van Brocklin-Florence United Methodist Church with Pastor Dawn Barr officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Floyd's memory.
