Floncie Mae Ishmon

October 23, 1945 — December 18, 2011

Floncie Mae Ishmon, 66, of Freeport, entered into eternal life on Sunday December 18, 2011 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Floncie was born on October 23, 1945 in Forrest City, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Willie Atkins and Bertha Rogers. Floncie was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, aunt and friend. Mrs. Ishmon married on October 29, 1960 in Forrest City, Arkansas to Fred Lee Ishmon Sr. She moved to Freeport in 1965. She was employed by Micro Switch from 1971-1980. After leaving there she became a CAN and worked up until her illness would no longer let her. Floncie was an active member in Friendship Missionary Baptist Church until her death. She enjoyed fishing, cooking for everyone and she loved to sing. She was last survivor of her family and was known as the women with an amazing voice. Survivors include; husband; Fred Lee Ishmon of Freeport, four sons; Fred (Renae) Ishmon Jr., Willie (Stacey) Ishmon, Angelo (Donna) Ishmon and Darrin (Crystle) Ishmon of Freeport, three daughters Barnetta (Willie) Jordan Stephanie (Chris) Ishmon and Katrina (Steven) Ishmon all of Freeport. 24 grandkids, 15 great grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews. Flonce was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Sterling Jr. and James, three sisters; Puckett, Odelle and Lucille and one grandson; Tejourn 'Scooter' . Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 24, 2011, in Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Freeport. Visitation will be Friday, noon until time of service at the church.
