Fern E. Duffy

Fern E. Duffy, 71, of Delavan, WI, passed away Wednesday November 14, 2012 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. The former Fern Elizabeth Zink was born on May 19, 1941 in Savanna, IL the daughter of Paul and Effie (Longnecker) Zink. She graduated from Savanna Illinois High School in 1959 and then from St. Paul Medical College'™s School of Dentistry in St. Paul, MN as a dental assistant. She worked for many years in the advertising department at both W.T. Raleigh and Honeywell-Micro Switch in Freeport, IL. After relocating to Rockford, IL, Fern worked at inside sales for Hudson Manufacturing, Time Screw and the Illinois State Unemployment Insurance. In addition she worked as a sales coordinator for Sun Automotive of New Berlin, WI and after many years she retired from Snap-On Tool of Crystal Lake, IL Fern enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs and Bears and spending time working crossword puzzles. She loved participating in the social hours known as 'cocktails in the park' . Fern is survived by: James, her husband of 47 years, a daughter Jaime E.
