Evodia Jane Stoddard

November 29, 1933 — February 25, 2016

Evodia Jane (Wessels) Stoddard, 82 of Fort Lauderdale, Florida went to her Heavenly Home on February 25th, 2016. She was born in Freeport, Illinois on November 29th, 1933 to parents Harry H & Evodia (Vanloh) Wessels. Evodia (Votsy) Jane graduated from Freeport High School and received her bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. She did her graduate work at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She taught at Maroa Community School in Illinois. She played in the Rockford Civic Symphony Orchestra. She loved music and played the piano, accordion and violin. Jane married Gary Stoddard and relocated to Fort Lauderdale in 1956. She and her husband founded a security company of which she later became President and co-owner with Alan Stoddard. She was very active in service to the Lord who she truly loved. She loved her family and was a very strong, caring, and generous person who always put others before herself. She is survived by her three children, Alan, Lynn and Florajean; three grandchildren, Michelle, Trisha and Christopher; two great-grandchildren, Skyy and Lilith, and one sister Irma Jean Wessels Storr of Kissimmee, Florida as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on March 12th at 11am at Plantation Baptist Church 11700 NW 28th Court, Plantation, FL 33323. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, Illinois on March 18th at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Evodia Jane Stoddard at sat7usa.org/Evodia
