Evmorphia "Faith" Hatjikiriakos, 78, of Freeport, passed away in her home on Monday August 24, 2020. Faith was born April 13, 1942, in Freeport the daughter of George and Helen (Anjanos) Hatjimanolis. On October 16, 1966 she married Emmanuel "Mike" K. Hatjikiriakos in Freeport at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. Faith was a member of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Freeport and Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Rockford. She worked as a receptionist for Malcom Eaton and was a sales rep for Avon. Faith looked forward to camping at the Lena KOA campground and playing cards with her friends in the "Friends Card Group". Most of all Faith enjoyed life by spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. There was nothing she loved more, and she was so immensely proud of them. She found great joy in attending their school activities and sports. She especially enjoyed Zachary's basketball games and Alexia's competitive tumbling events. Surviving are her daughter, Georgia (Raymond) Newcomer of Freeport; and two grandchildren Zachary and Alexia Newcomer. Faith is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Emmanuel "Mike" K. Hatjikiriakos. Visitation will be at Burke Tubbs on Monday August 31, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. with a private funeral at 11:00 at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. Based on the current pandemic the visitation will require mandatory masks and social distancing. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
