Evelyn Cain

Evelyn Cain 84, of Freeport went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 15, 2015at Prescense St. Joseph Center. She was born January 9, 1931 in West, Mississippi to Euless and Deborah (King) Lowery. She was married to Eris Cain Sr. He died March 24, 2001. Evelyn was a retiree of Burgess Battery Company in Freeport. She was a member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Robert L. Huff until she moved back to West, Ms. Evelyn then became a member of Hudson Missionary Baptist Church where she was a devoted usher until she had become ill. Upon returning to Freeport to be cared for by her children, she had become a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. As time had passed Evelyn had wanted to reunite with her St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church family. She leaves to cherish many loving memories to her four children, Eris (Henriette) Cain Jr. of Rockford IL.; Charles (Gloria) Cain of Freeport IL.; Loretta (Cleophus) Harston of Freeport IL.; Myra (Dennis) Jordan of Freeport IL., fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two double great grandchildren, three sisters Redessa (Milton) Bruce; Annette Lockett; Dorothy (Lethonial) Richardson and a special cousin Hazel (Lonnie) Sellers. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband, parents, three brothers Orlanda Lowery; Leonard Lowery; Yvarn Lowery and one sister Eula Lee Kirkwood. Services for Evelyn Cain will be held on Friday July 24, 2015 with the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church located at 607 E Stephenson St , Freeport, IL 61032.
