Evarista "Every" Wheeler

Evarista "Every" Wheeler, 85, of Freeport, passed away, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in her home surrounded by loving family. Every was born April 18, 1936, in Chicago, the daughter of Adam and Alvina (Ostrowski) Lichnerowicz. Every married Richard Wheeler Sr. October 8, 1955, in Chicago. Mr. Wheeler passed away February 22, 2006. Every loved being a homemaker along with working many years in the banking industry. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She had much love and pride for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving is two sons, Richard (Crystal) Wheeler Jr. of Whiting, Indiana, and Joseph (Anne) Wheeler of Homer Glen; two daughters, Mary (Manuel) Rios of San Jose, California, and Kathryn (Dr. Lucio) Martinez of Freeport; nine grandchildren, Nicolas (Ricci), Conrad, Richard III (Meghan), Meagan, Jennifer, Matthew, Jack, Aidan, and Grace, and six great-grandchildren, Rocco, Luca, Reign, Tessa, Allan Jr., and Ayla. Also surviving is many nieces and nephews. Every was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard; daughter, Faith; and two sisters, Mildred (John) Kunis and Nadine (William) Morse. Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church will be on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 10:30am, with a visitation beforehand at 9:00am until the time of service. Memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society-Ovarian Cancer in memory of Every.
