Eugene Wall

Eugene Wall was born in North Carrollton, Mississippi on December 25, 1941 to the late Mr. Gilbert Wall Sr. and Mrs. Hellon Drake McDory. Gene moved to Freeport, Il. in 1968. On October 16, 1998, Gene married the love of his life, Gloria Stansberry. They shared a rare and special kind of love. They remained dedicated to one another until his passing. He gave his life to Christ at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed by Strucco Manufacturing for 30 plus years as a forklift operator, from which he retired. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandkids, fishing, riding his bike, wiping on his vehicles, and sitting at Boco.

Gene is survived by his wife of 26 years, although together for 56 years, Mrs. Gloria Wall; four daughters: Charlotte Lewis and Nettie Jenkins of Carrollton, MS, Shar’Ron Thompson of Freeport, Il, Patricia (Markee) Stansberry of Rockford, Il; three sons: Darron Thompson of Freeport, Il, Gregory (Kiana) Stansberry of Baraboo, WI, and Adrian (Denise) Pempilton of Port Charlotte, Fl; three sisters: Eula (Willie) Thomas of Jackson, MS, Mary Wall of Memphis, TN, Earnestine (Hardie) Marks of North Carrollton, MS; one brother: Guy Lee Wall of Memphis, TN; 17 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren; one godson; Tevin Brooks of Freeport IL, one special Aunt Elizabeth Furdge; one special Sister-in-law Thelma Haynie and a host of nieces, nephew, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday October 14, 2023 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Visitaiton 9:00 am until the time of service at St. Paul. Burial will be in Freeport City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mr. Wall's memory.
