Eugene Myers

Eugene O. Myers age 71 of Forreston, Illinois passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at home peacefully in his sleep. Eugene was born in Freeport, Illinois on June 20, 1947 to Milford and Helen (Wagner) Myers. He was united in marriage to Eileen V. Landon on October 19, 1968 in Clinton, Iowa. Eugene was a 1965 graduate of Leaf River High School. He worked for over 25 years in Mount Morris at Quebecor. He was a vendor at the Stephenson County Farmer's Market for over 35 years. He delivered newspapers for over 10 years for the Freeport Journal Standard. Eugene loved the outdoors and enjoyed trapping, mushroom hunting, watching and feeding birds, and gardening. Eugene was devoted to God. He enjoyed everything about trains. Eugene will be missed by his wife, Eileen; son, Christopher (Sarah) Myers of Hartford, Wisconsin; daughters, Ronda (Jeff) Lindsay of Lanark, Illinois and Sheila (Mike) Piper of Ohio, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Kadie, Levi, Becky, Doran, Angela, Andrew, Cail and Abigail; two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and a daughter. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston, Illinois at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs.
