Eugene C. Vogt, 90, previously from Forreston, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was born April 9, 1927 the son of Clay R. and Rosa Margaret (Devries) Vogt. On November 14, 1945 he married LaVonne Doris Moring in Freeport. He was the owner and operator of a construction business for over 40 years and also farmed, worked as the concessionaire at the White Pines State Park for 10 years and worked as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Eugene was a member of the Forreston Reformed Church, Forreston Lions Club, Masons, church elder, Forreston School Board Member, Freeport RSVP Program, Habitat for Humanity Board and Volunteer Builder and the 2007 Baileyville Centenial Committee. He is survived by his wife LaVonne; son Terry Allen Vogt of Maui, HI; daughter Joyce Lorraine (Craig) LeBaron of Freeport; sister Lois E. (Roger) Bruckner of Greenville, SC; grandchildren Tyler (Melissa) Vogt of Forreston, Tricia (Mick) Franklin of Winnebago and Jennifer (Joe Scurek) LeBaron of Arlington Hts.; step grandchildren Michelle Rowe (David) Roberts of Arvada, CO; great-grandchildren Allison Franklin, Krista Franklin, Jessica Franklin all of Winnebago, and Taylor Vogt, Marisa Vogt and Hailee Vogt all of Forreston; and many nieces and nephews. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Kenneth, daughter-in-law Joann Vogt, Brothers and sisters-in-laws Clarence (Mary) Moring, Mervin (Florence) Moring and Lloyd (Johanna) Moring, and in-laws John (Gertie) Moring. A celebration of life will be held 1:30 P.M. Friday May 19, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in his memory.
