Eugene A. Stukenberg

Eugene A. Stukenberg, 79, of Forreston, died Tuesday March 1, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born June 24, 1936 in Ogle County, IL, the son of Raymond and Ruth (Hartje) Stukenberg. He married Marilyn J. Engel June 2, 1956 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Forreston, IL; she died July 19, 2012. Eugene worked at Kelly Springfield Tire for 34 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Church and a charter member of the Forreston Lions Club for many years. He enjoyed cheering for Chicago sports teams, fishing, golfing, horseracing, and solving the worlds problems with his coffee buddies at the "Table of Knowledge". Gene and Marilyn were great Statler Brothers fans and enjoyed ballroom dancing. Eugene is survived by his three sons Brian Stukenberg of Forreston, IL, Barry (Shana) Stukenberg of Boaz, AL, and Brent (LuAnn) Stukenberg of Sterling, IL; his daughter Jori (Dan) Holland of Freeport, IL; two brothers Richard (Audrey) Stukenberg and Gerald (Sandra) Stukenberg both of Forreston, IL; his sister Carol (Michael) Gagliardi of Forreston; twelve grandchildren: Rob, Christopher, Daniel, Matthew, Amy, Tiffany, Stephanie, Dylan, Nicole, Samantha, Wayne, and Jessica; fourteen great-grandchildren; also brother and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday March 5, 2016 at Faith Evangelical Church in Forreston with Rev. Scott Ralston officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
