Eugene A. Poffenberger

Eugene A. Poffenberger, 71, of Freeport, died Monday June 23, 2014 in his home. He was born April 1, 1943 in Xarroll County, IL, the so of Leo and Gertrude (Pontnack) Poffenberger. He married Donna Melnick January 31, 1964 in Freeport, IL. He worked for O'Mara Transfer Company for 35 years. Eugene is survived by his wife Donna Poffenberger of Freeport, IL; two sons Brian Poffenberger of Freeport, IL and Sean Poffenberger of Shannon, IL; his daughter Lori Ash of Machesney Park, IL; three brothers, one sister, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no funeral services or visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded.
