Freeport - Esther M. Leggett, 91, of Freeport, Illinois died at Freeport, Illinois on October 19, 2024. She was born August 12, 1933 to Godfrey Ingold and Frieda Krebs Ingold. She married William F. Leggett on February 10, 1956. She was employed for many years at Newell Companies in Freeport, and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Freeport.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Leggett, of Los Angeles, California, her daughter, Crystal (Randy) Wichman, of Freeport, Illinois, two grandchildren, Samantha (Tim) Brandt of Danvers, Illinois and Keith Wichman of Freeport, Illinois and one great-grandchild, Briggs Brandt, of Danvers, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William, and sisters, Dorothy Ingold, Irene Snapp, and Marguerite Roderick.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday October 25, 2024 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg will officiate. Visitation 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Leggett's memory.
