Ernestine Huber, 82, of Freeport, IL fell asleep in death on Thursday November 19, 2020 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born September 5, 1938 in Spring Township, Centre County, PA the daughter of Ernest and Eleanor (Eisenhower) Frazier. On April 26, 1957 she married the love of her life, Harry T. Huber at her parents home in Freeport, IL. And would be happily married for the next 61 years. Harry fell asleep in death on July 2, 2019. Ernestine was a member of the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Ernestine attended a country school while residing in Kent, IL. She was an industrious wife, mother and partner. She held a variety of vocations through the years, Structo, Heine Plastics, Mode O Day, house cleaning for individuals, JcPenney, Freeport Hospital, but her true love was her faith, friends and her family (immediate and extended). It didn't take much to be her friend, just a smile and a hug. (That was the price of admission.) Harry and Tina (as her friends knew her) resided in Red Oak IL in the early years then moved to Harper IL till Harry's retirement. At that point, they retired to Shell Knob Mo, where they enjoyed fishing and good friends. Tina was also a member of the Shell Knob Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. They returned to Freeport IL, May 2019 and Tina moved into Heritage Woods Assisted Living. If you happened to stop by the Huber home any given day, Mom would make sure you had 3 things: 1. A Hug 2. A kiss 3. A Meal. She always knew how to create a feast. Her dedication not just to all of us but to her beliefs and love for Jehovah God was reflected in every aspect of her life. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crochet, needlepoint, cake decorating, shopping, music, dressing up as a clown for her grandkids, gardening, cooking, surprises, taking an active interest in her families lives, keeping in touch with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and of course fishing with Harry. Although, there was always a disagreement as to who the best fisherman of the day was... (wink, wink) To say that Tina was social would be an understatement. She just loved people, it didn't matter who you were. Because of that she had numerous ones lovingly refer to her as "Mom" or adopted her as "Grandma". Even through COVID she grew proficient at using her Samsung phone, iPad for Zoom and for Facetime, windows based PC for email and even had a google assistant to stay in contact and carry on in her bible education activities. Which was no small feat, but to her it was worth it. She was just the "best Mom in the world." She is survived by her three sons Brian (Laurie) Huber of Dakota, IL, Bradley (Julie) Huber of Forreston, IL and Barry (Becky) Huber of Winslow, IL; daughter Kathy (Jim) Cagle of Creston, IL; two brothers Ernie (Beverly) Frazier and Jim Frazier; sister Nancy Samuelson; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceding Ernestine in death are her parents, husband, sister Donna McKibbens, sister in law Joan Frazier, brother in law Warren Samuelson and grandson Jesse Cagle. Also, best friends Jan Moore and Gayle Brungardt. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial fund has been established in her memory. There will be a video conference memorial via zoom for Ernestine online, December 5th at 3 PM.
