Erma Biederman

Erma M. Biederman, 88, of Freeport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5 , surrounded by her family at F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. Erma was born on January 31, 1925 in Broadhead, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Ida (Rhyner) Schenk . Erma grew up in Monticello, Wisconsin and graduated from Monticello High School and later moved to Freeport. Erma married Bernard E. Biederman on November 23, 1944. He died November 12, 1997. Erma worked many years at Northwest Telephone Company as a operator and was later employed by Freeport Memorial Hospital. Erma was active in White Shrine, Eastern Star, Order of Amarath, Scottish Rite Women'™s Club and Ladies Auxiliary to Freeport Commandery, in which she held numerous offices. Erma is survived by her children, Dennis (Dale) Biederman; of Jackson, Wisconsin, Janice (Thomas) Barrette ; of Savanna and Robert Biederman of Chicago, Illinois. She will be dearly missed by them as well as her grandchildren, John and Jason (Jill) Biederman, Jeffrey, Brent and Heath (Jenn) Barrette. Her great-grandchildren'™ Kennedy Biederman and Braden and Drew Barrette. Erma is also survived by her sister, Alice (Ken) Holcomb of Highland, Indiana and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Erma was preceded in death by her brothers, Herb, Ike and Ray Schenk and her sister in law, Janie (Biederman) Scott. A funeral service for Mrs. Biederman will be Saturday, 10:30 A.M. at Bethany United Church of Christ. Rev. Ted Michalsen, Pastor will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport and from 9:30 A.M. until time of service Saturday at the Church.
