Elma A. Buntjer, 91, of Forreston, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Freeport FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1919 in Ogle County. She was the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Buss) Welp. She attended Summer Hill School in rural Forreston. She was a lifelong member of Forreston Grove Church. A faithful member, she belonged to the Eunice Circle of the Women'™s Fellowship, taught Sunday School and Bible School. She worked at Kable News in Mt. Morris before she married Arthur B. Buntjer on February 16, 1950 at Forreston Grove Church. Arthur and her lived two years in Forreston then moved to farm in the area and farmed for 33 years. In 1983 they bought a home in Forreston where she continued to be a homemaker, enjoying her flowers, vegetable garden, baking, bowling and playing ball with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also gave her time to nursing homes and handicapped children. Arthur went to be home with the Lord on October 10,2003. She is survived by two daughters, Dione (Kevin) Alderks of Baileyville and Karol (Ron) Lower of Lena; four grandchildren, Michele (Alvin) Warzynski of Almond, WI., Shawn (Chris) Folgate of Orangeville, Josh (Amanda) and Jered Lower; four great grandchildren, Chase and Austin Warzynoki and Lindsey and Savanna Folgate. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and a brother. Funeral services Will be Thursday 11:30 a.m. at Forreston Grove Church. Pastor Jeremy Cheezum will officiate.
