Ellen M. Pfeiffer

Ellen M. Pfeiffer, 60, of Freeport, passed away, Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. Ellen was born on December 29, 1951, in Freeport, daughter of Russell E. and Lois M. (Strohecker) Cobb. Ellen married Robert R. Pfeiffer on June 25, 1976 in Rockton. Mr. Pfeiffer passed away on April 22, 1997. Ellen worked as a beautician and hairdresser. Along with her husband they owned and operated Pfeiffer Engine Service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Ellen graduated from Aquin High School in 1969. Ellen enjoyed racing and was a fan of the Chicago Bears. Ellen was always willing to help others. Her family was important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survived by sons, Jamie (Mandy) Pfeiffer, of Freeport, Tim (Allie) Pfeiffer, of Germany; brothers, Edward Cobb and Russell Cobb, both of Freeport, Joe (Chris) Cobb, of Phoenix, AZ.; sister, Sandra (Art) Poehlman, of West Bend, WI.; grandchildren, Ethan, Maisen, Kayden, Azalynn, and Haley. Also surviving are many close friends, nieces, nephews and her dog Chewy. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. '" 7:00p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home.
