Elizabeth Thompson

On January 13, 1944 Elizabeth Allen was born in Rich, Mississippi to Pate and Virginia Allen. She was the fifth child of thirteen. She confessed her love for Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a member of New St. Martin Church in Freeport, IL. Elizabeth passed over on October 7, 2015 following a short illness. She was surrounded by family and friends. Elizabeth retired from Stephenson Nursing Home following 20 years of service. In 1971 she found the love of her life, Willie Cooper. Through this union they were blessed to raise nine children. Elizabeth legacy will always live on. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Christine (Tom) Johnson of Freeport, IL. Jeanette (Lenere) Thompson of Freeport, IL. Alfreda (Dymon) Pearson of Freeport, IL., Shaletha (Tyrone) Mays of Peoria, IL. and Wilena Thompson of Freeport, IL. Four sons, James (Vernita) Allen of Chicago, IL. Ray (Linda) Thompson of Freeport, IL. Garry Thompson of Carpentersville, IL. and Jeffrey Thompson of Germany. Two special step-children, Batrica Thompson of Schaumburg, IL. and Jeffrey Thompson of Carpentersville, IL. Two brothers, Andrew Allen and Lorenzo (Constance) Allen both of Freeport IL. Three sisters, Lizzie (Julius) Winston of Freeport, Celeste Allen of Chicago, IL., and Erma Jean (Joe) Williams of Freeport, IL. 28 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Pate and Virginia Allen, four brothers William, Columbus, Willie and Sunny Allen, two sisters, Mary and Clara Allen; one granddaughter, Dathel Thompson; and a daughter-in-law, Krystal Lynn Thompson. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 17, 2015 at Faith Center of Freeport, 203 W. Pleasant Street, Freeport, IL .
