Elizabeth “Betty” Francis Cannova Bradley-Luecke, 95, passed away on April 20, 2025 at Parkview Home of Freeport in Freeport, IL.

Betty was born on May 9, 1929 in Freeport, IL the daughter of Anthony and Philippine (Griffo) Cannova. She graduated from Aquin High School in 1947 and married Donald Bradley on October 22, 1950. She later married Charles Luecke on November 16, 1997.

For more than 30 years Betty was employed at Newell where she made lifelong connections and friendships. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s and St. Thomas Church and volunteered at Provena St. Joseph Center.

Family and friends alike were welcomed into her home where she always assured everyone’s plate was served before her own. All who left Betty’s home had a full stomach of pasta and meatballs and her famous Italian cookies.

Betty is survived by her sister, Virginia Krogull; four children, Mary Zepko of Westfield, MA, Mark (Jill) Bradley of Bartlett, IL, Donald (Shirley) Bradley of Freeport, IL, and Therese Shaw of Madison, WI; seven grand children Bradley and Laura Zepko, Michael and Jordan Bradley, Lucas Bradley and Kelli Lance, and Andrea Shaw; four great grandchildren; Charles’ five children Alicia (Tony) DeMichele, Chuck (Sally) Luecke, Robert (Mary) Luecke, Marcia Toepfer, and Bernie (Sarah) Luecke; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie Luecke and husband Donald Bradley, brothers Tony (Anne) Cannova and Frank (Martha) Cannova, brother in law James “Butch” Krogull, daughter in-law Carrie Bradley and son-in-law Tony Shaw.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, April 30 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Peter Snieg officiating. A memorial visitation will be held at St. Thomas Church from 9:30am until the time of mass. Inurnment of cremated remains will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Parkview Home for their compassionate care and loving support.
