Eleanor Kay Kendrick

Eleanor Kay Kendrick, 79, of Freeport, died Thursday February 8, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 2, 1938 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Sophia (Herrick) Bogard. She married Peter Kendrick September 14, 1957 at All Souls Church in Abingdon, IL. Eleanor managed the Freeport Country Club as well as other management positions. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her friends and family. Eleanor is survived by her husband Peter Kendrick of Freeport, IL; son, Peter T. (Tom) Kendrick of Baraboo, WI; two daughters, Margaret (Brian Baxter) Kendrick of Baraboo, WI and Elizabeth (Steven) Chapman of Orangeville, IL; two sisters, Virginia Horaney of Aliso Viejo, CA and Carol Sheley of Tyler, TX; four grandchildren Rachel Coonley, Olivia Lamoreux, and Caitlin and Cooper Chapman; two step-grandchildren Dylan and Taylor Baxter; and three great-grandchildren Isabel and Magnusson Coonley, and Lydia Lamoreux. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Todd Kendrick; sister, Phyllis Bogard-Wallace; and two brothers Richard and Thomas Bogard. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 17, 2018 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Huguenin officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
