Eleanor Joyce Ehrler-Cheeseman

Eleanor Joyce Ehrler-Cheeseman, 93, of Freeport, died Sunday July 17, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Home. Eleanor was born July 5, 1923 in Stockton, the daughter of Charles T. and Etta (Hughes) Derr. Eleanor first husband Everett Ehrler died in 1965. She then married Gene Cheeseman in 1980. Mr. Cheeseman died in 1984. Eleanor worked as a bookkeeper for both Progressive Molds and then for Amity. She worked 28 years at the Elk's Lodge, 38 years at Burgess, and she also worked at Econo Foods. Eleanor was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Freeport Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are her son, Robert (Norine) Ehrler of Freeport; brother, Kenneth Derr of California. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one daughter, two brothers and one four sisters. Mrs. Cheeseman's wishes were to donate her body to Medical Science.
